Mr Ed Sideso MS FRCS
Mr Sideso is a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon. His NHS practice is at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford with added outpatient services in Berkshire. He is the current head of the department of Vascular Surgery in Oxford and is an Honorary lecturer in the University of Oxford. His undergraduate training was in the University of London and surgical training was in the Oxford deanery. He undertook a period of research in the Nuffield Department of Medicine in University of Oxford.
He underwent a fellowship for endovascular training in Germany and attended the Cleveland Clinic, USA for training in complex endovascular aortic treatment.
Mr Sideso has extensive experience with management of patients with venous disease. He has performed in excess 1000 endovenous procedures for varicose veins. He uses up to date minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of varicose veins with an office based approach allowing patients to ‘walk in walk out’ for their varicose vein treatment.
As well as his venous practice, he has extensive experience in managing diseases of the aorta, he also performs Carotid artery surgery for stroke prevention and manages patients with peripheral arterial disease and diabetic foot conditions.
Karen Croft, Sonographer
I initially qualified as a Diagnostic Radiographer and soon after completed a Diploma in Medical Ultrasound. I have over 25 years of ultrasound scanning experience in both the NHS and private sectors. In 2012, after further study, I became an Accredited Vascular Scientist . I am a member of the Society of Radiographers, the Society of Vascular Technologists and I am HCPC registered. I regularly attend up–date courses and conferences to ensure I am informed of the latest developments and I work to the highest standard. As well as my interest in Vascular ultrasound I also perform obstetric, gynae and abdominal ultrasound scans.
I have been working with Mr Sideso since 2014, performing venous and arterial scans and assisting with venous procedures.
Rachel Ford, Sonographer
I qualified as a Diagnostic Radiographer in 1998 and subsequently returned to university to gain a postgraduate certificate in Magnetic Resonance Imaging in 2000. Later I was given the opportunity to specialise in Ultrasound and qualified as a Sonographer in 2002. After five years working full time in the NHS I took up the post of Senior Lecturer at London South Bank University and in 2008 I became Course Director for Ultrasound for four years. During this time I developed and implemented a vascular module as an addition to the existing syllabus and gained my teaching qualification. Alongside my academic career I maintained my vascular skills in both the NHS and private sector.
I have been working with Mr Sideso since 2016 performing venous and arterial scans and assisting with venous procedures. As well as my specialist interest in vascular ultrasound I continue to gain experience in abdominal and gynaecological ultrasound on a weekly basis.
Lisa Sedgwick (Nurse)
Lisa has a BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing and has 17 years experience as a Theatre Nurse. She has specialised in General/Vascular Surgery. She currently works in the NHS and The Private Sector as a Surgical Assistant.
She attends regularly training in order to stay up to date so to provide excellent care. She has worked for Mr Sideso for 2 years as an assistant to the various vascular procedures that he provides.
Angela Wiltshire, Secretary
Angela is an experienced medical PA with organisational skills that are second to none. Angela has been working with Mr Sideso for the last 3 years and is the focal point of his private practice.
